I wrote this song in a hotel room in NYC, while on a lonely tour of the Northeast. It was the first time I had ever been in love and I wasn't sure how to process any of it. I was scared of it. So, in a time of feeling a bit lost, I took shelter in the music. I penned down the words that I simply couldn't bring myself to speak out loud.
After recording a full band production of this song, I ended up stripping it down to cello, piano and guitar. I felt it better conveyed the raw emotion and almost mournful yearning that inspired the song. Max Seidman Music.
